Lets Talk About Waterskiing
Getting Up

One of the first things one must learn in Waterskiing is how to get up.Our youngest skier The Aqua Addicts are dedicated to helping all its members, even those who have never skied before, reach that goal. Any team member who wants to learn a new type of waterskiing has the chance to have experts (we call them experts for their self-esteem, Shhh) help teach them the new activity. The Aqua Addicts Waterski Show Team also hosts "Learn to ski" events each summer to help people in Aberdeen and the surrounding communities learn how to ski.

Slalom- down to one

For the Aqua Addicts, slalom is a valued skill but is not the focus of the team. Team slalomers can practice their skills on practices not set aside for the sole purpose of show skiing.

Barefooting- Skis?

Waterskis? Never heard of them. This is the ultimate goal of most of the Aqua Addicts. This team has a lot of them.Look ma! No Skiis Our barefooters range in age from less than ten years of age to over FORTY!!! Answering once and for all, yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks. One barefooting feat the Aqua Addicts are proud of is its Girl barefooters, yes that's right. The Addicts have several Aqua Girls who have graced the water with their bare soles. The Aqua Addicts also put up the first Barefoot Pyramid in South Dakota. Now the Aqua Addicts have two barefoot pyramids and are the only team I am aware of that has ever performed a barefoot pyramid cut under. The Aqua Addicts have done just about anything you can think of barefooting, at least once (obviously an exaggeration but you get the point). I wouldn't be surprised to see even more outrageous things this year.
